Somos, We Are

In my work, I find the affective relationship of my close circle, those beings who build a specific universe alongside me. Each collected hair, each intertwined strand, contains the genetic code of our connection, an emotional bond that unites us, a link that transcends the physical and becomes a bridge to the essence of what SOM05 (WE ARE)represents. Together, we create a collective of individuals inhabiting a universe of shared affection and memory.

The beauty of the world lies in the differences that unite us. My work brings together silk and hair, materials that reveal their transformation and disappearance, showcasing the beauty of impermanence and the multiplicity of existence. In the structure and DNA of these materials, we find the biological part that unites us, a genetic code that replicates and transforms into a collective.

As an artist, I position myself from within, I am the connecting thread, the bridge that unites. My perspective is from within, from the heart of the work, where the essence of what SOM05 (WE ARE)is found. In this entanglement, we find the essence of what SOM05 (WE ARE)represents: a set of relationships, a network of life that is constantly woven and unwoven, a flow of energy and matter that connects and transforms us.
