The Guachaca series (2022-23) are highly detailed drawings made from ink prints of organic remains found at the mouth of the Guachaca River by the sea, near the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in Colombia-a snow-capped peak near the Caribbean coast and sacred land for the Arhuaco, Wiwa, and Kogi peoples-a region where multiple bodies of water flow down from the Sierra to the Atlantic Ocean. Devis also collaborated with local communities to identify the species originating from the remains collected.
